"You shouldn't have made that noise," Julie says.
"What?"
"Just a matter of time now."
"What are you talking about?"
She eyes me ruefully. "You sat down. You relaxed. It's going to wake up the kids."
We're currently sprawled precariously on the tightrope of Saturday simultaneous naps. It's like playing Jenga with half the blocks labeled "Lyla" and the other half "Rowan." No wonder we're reluctant to move.
Hopefully this click-clacking of computer keys doesn't knock them from slumber. I'm going to get up now for another cup of coffee, then will sip silently.
"Hey Julie."
She shakes her head.
Later...
The kids awoke at a satisfactory time. Since Lyla is four now, we're at the point where each simultaneous nap could be the last. Post-nap this afternoon, we drove to western South Dakota (it felt like) to hang out with Lyla and Rowan's cousin Ava and her parents Jodie and Matt. Here are the kids watching a Tinkerbell movie while we adults teeter on the tightrope of simultaneous movie watching.
