That was my favorite book growing up. It actually kind of sucks. Rowan will likely have the exact same reflection with his son (named Dan) in 30 years or so.
By the way, as Grover headed to school in that sucky book, I finished school for the year. Woo hoo! Bring on summer. Or at least summer disguised as early spring.
